2024 Challenge Mile

The Brooks Rehabilitation Challenge Mile is a free event empowering individuals living with a disability. We welcome people of all ages and abilities to come together and volunteer or participate. Participants are invited to wheel it, walk it, jog or run the one mile course, March 2, 2024, during the Gate River Run. Watch our video to learn more about the event!

Volunteer for the Challenge Mile

Help us make the Challenge Mile great with your on-site support. We have several volunteer positions available to help with all aspects of the event, from cheering on participants to helping with registration and transportation. Volunteers also need to register for the Challenge Mile (even if not participating) and bus transportation by February 17 to receive a free t-shirt and a spot on the bus. Event Details

The Brooks Rehabilitation Challenge Mile starts at 10 a.m. and is free to participate. The event starts at the corner of E. Duval Street and A Philip Randolph Blvd. at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds, Fairground Pl, Jacksonville, FL 32202. Volunteers and participants need to register for the Challenge Mile (even if they are not walking) and bus transportation by February 17 to receive a free race t-shirt and ensure transportation to the event.

Transportation to the Event

Brooks Rehabilitation will provide bus transportation to Challenge Mile participants and volunteers. Buses will pick up in 3 locations: Brooks Healthcare Plaza, Brooks Bartram Campus and the Brooks Outpatient Clinic in Orange Park. Buses will leave at 8 a.m. Make sure to register for transportation by February 17 to guarantee a spot on the bus.
